View Full Version : The making of Leon: Twisting the forearm

I'm watching "the making of leon" while trying to model a model of my own.
The problem I'm having is kiaran narrates the forearm part of the video,
where the radius and ulna bones twist while using a single join chain.
I'm assuming he is parenting the geometry to the joints. When I do
the same, the geometry doesn't twist like his example does. It just
rotates.

Hi moree,

The forearm setup that you are speaking of requires that you smooth bind the mesh.

That's all it was? So, do I have to smooth bind the flesh at the same time
I smooth bind the skeleton? Or is it possible to smooth bind them separately.
Thanks for your reply!

Kiaran,

I was trying to open the scripts and the files that came with the cds,
but it keeps giving me an error message in Maya:

"Errors have occurred while readin this scene that may result
in data loss. Please check the Script Editor for details."

Script Editor:

"Maya binary file parse error: : (6) corrupted file structure"

"Maya binary file parse error: : (6) corrupted file structure"

Yuck. Sounds like the files got messed up during printing or something. Try sending an email to tech support.

I sent an email to them about this issue, last week. I still haven't
heard back from them.

Although the scene files don't open, I am able to open the mel scripts.

I'm having a problem executing them though.
I copied the scripts to the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\1\My Documents\maya\scripts

When I try executing the scripts, I get an error message:
"Error: Cannot find procedure "cgTkRigTools"
