Can anyone tell me why, when I now try and capture a picture with Explorer it only gives me the option of saving as a Bitmap? It used to let me save as jpeg (which I prefer) Are there some preferences I screwed up somewhere? Help? Please?

Its a bug in Explorer.

Try empting you temp internet files, also (works sometimes, at the moment its just making shortcuts for me) you can click and drag images to the folder of you choice.

Thanks, None of their solutions worked for me...Do you think this will get fixed in the service pack that just came out? Which by BTW I'm scared to death to install, last time I did a little update the HD froze, complete loss.

I've had it happen on both 98 and win2k, last night for the first time in a while.

Doubtful on the service patch :)

Did you happen to restart after trying those?

Seriously, do they ever fix their bugs? No. But you could try right-clicking the (a) link to the image, and selecting "save target as". Or try switching to a better browser (I use Opera myself).

Get Opera at Opera.com

You can scale the browser veiw, right click to your hearts content, AND if you get the one without Java, your right click isn't DISABLED by some "protection java". Otherwise, just hit 'Print Screen" on your keyboard and open Photoshop, click new, then edit/past and walla, you can cut out the parts you want. A hassle but you get what you want.
