View Full Version : Disintegrating

Hi, I need help figuring out how to disintegrate an object and have the pieces float away like little shreds of cloth in the wind, I've tried different things like Parray, but i dont have enough control over the motion of the particles, and I can't apply a cloth sim to them. I've been racking my brain for the past week trying to do this, any help would be great. :shrug:

Use a bomb spacewarp to explode the mesh up to say frame 100, duplicate the file, take a snapshot of the freshly-exploded mesh at frame 100, apply a clothsim to it and calculate it. Then render up to frame 100 in the first file, from 100 to the end of the animation in the other, and string the renders together.

That's what I'd try first anyway.
