Title: Batman Fighting Game Model
Name: Lee C. Salo
Country: Cayman Islands
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop
This is The Batman model for my school game project. Its a 3rd person fighting game based off of the short film "Batman Deadend".
http://www.collorastudios.com/projects/bde/bdemain.htm
the model is 5110 triangles. it uses 1024 diffuse, specular, oppacity and normal maps. I am a big, big fan of Batman, especially the frank miller stuff ( Dark Knight Strikes Again is the best graphic novel ever!!!! ). So I hope you guys enjoy it.
thanks all,
lee

Amazing Work. Both the model and the texturework is beautifull. I too am a Huge Batman fan, and I think this really does the character justice. How the mask forms into the horns is a little weird, but appart from that flawless stuff! keep us posted on this game.

Pretty good! Like the look, although it could stand a few more bright spots so that it doesn't fade into monochrome. Add a little white in a couple of places, I think, just enough to give depth, but not too much to where he looses his "darkness," so to speak.
The neck and head seem a little squased to me as well, and those wrinkles on his side and around his arm pits bother me for some reason. I also miss the yellow version of the logo - But that's just me.
I must say, though, mapping overall is excellent!

Wow, I'm so glad you like it for the most part. I am really happy with the way this turned out and I"m glad you guys seem to like it to. I have a turntable render that shows off the normal maps nicely, 128 kbs in a winrar file. its 1.4 megs unzipped. would some one help me out and host it for me or somthing?
if you can just e-mail me at
leesalo@shaw.ca
then i send you the video
thanks again evrey body, I'm counting on this game to get me a job (please, please, please)
you all can download and play it when we are done!!!

Great work. Good normalmap and material. But I think the diffuse map is a bit monochrome, but that's just a matter of taste.

Thats a heck of a good Batman, only one minor caveat though, for as big as his shoulders are it looks like his head is resting on limp noodle. His neck is way too small, with deltoids like that his trapezious would almost go all the way up to his ears. If works, just pull out some verts on the back of his neck and push some on the curvature on the back of his head in. Other than that 5 stars

Very cool for low poly...the way the cape drapes needs a little attention,,,it kinda hovers off his shoulders,,,and the hands seem a little brutish too.....but good work none the less..he must be fun to animate..

Damn!
If only they had gone this route for the new movie...
This's got a LOT of mood, which is what Batman's all about. For a rather thick limbed character he looks really well proportioned, and still looks like he'd be able to move. That's not an easy thing to pull off, and you did it flawlessly.
