View Full Version : Alpha problems
basilisk 02-16-2005, 03:20 PM another problem with using alpha channels (my first problem being incompatiblity with vector motion blur)
I have some alpha mapped trees, which will appear reflected in glass windows. Unfortunately the alpha channel doesn't seem to work for the reflection, I see a reflection of the whole plane (see attached). Is there a solution to this one?
thanks

Does setting the raydepth higher in render settings make a difference?

Doesn't seem to help - surely the raydepth only needs to be as high as the number of objects your rays are passing through?

what is the ray depth setting you have? just whack it up a shed load and try it out then

problem solved I think - The reflection is sorted out if you turn off the environment channel in the reflective texture. I guess I will have to rely on real reflections.

STRAT - I set it (and reflection depth) to 100 - I don't think it was going to help in this case
