Hair, fur etc How to make it in 3dsmax5

I looked up some tutorials on shag hair and shag fur but wat they tell me to do doesnt seem to exist. I dnt get a shag hair or fur abillity in render-environment-atmosphere-add.

I am using 3dsmax5, do I need a plugin or something?

Shag hair is a plugin and you must have it installed to use it.

I think blur studios has a freeware hair plugin for max5. I am not sure, though...
