Sketches are very nice, and the mosaic over his hand is a special touch!:D

The box though... hmmmm... nice lighting, but needs a bit more work in the area of NOT MAKING IT LOOK LIKE A BOX!:D Great start though.



PS. I'd be careful of things like posting up boxes though, I think the moderators get a bit iffy about joke images clogging up the airways.

yeah.. i'm still working on it... i've never tried to model a head b4 soooo this is all very new to me....

what suggestions would you give?

Im not an expert, but id say make the head a little smaller, bigger nose, and something about the mouth and the eyes...but im not sure what, but maybe you can get someone elses opinion.;)

thanks guys. yeah.. head is babyish.. but... after some thought i decided to do some more sketches and try to understand what i'm modeling.. ( what i should have done in the begging) soo i ended up with this.. i'm quite delighted with it. i feel the shoulder and back could use some more work.. but it will have to do.

its sad really.. ever since i started modeling this guy i've started haveing THOUSANDS of ideas for extreme sports for this guy... soo i might end up changing this a bit... but i'll let you guys know if i do.

well.. after takeing another look at my modeling... i decided to start over. *grins* i tried to do more blocking with the overall shape instead of trying to nail down the details in one spot and then moving on... soo here's where i'm at now.

also reworked how i approched modeling the head.

It's looking good, you havent given much away though. so Im not going to hazard a guess at what the sport could be.
But he seems a bit squarish, in the transistion from the front of his belly to the side.

ok.. i decided to change my extreme sport. for the curious... that thing pointing at his face was a beer can... it was going to be sumo beerhunting... ( you shake up a can of beer and randomly stick it back into the sixpack.. then open at your head... )....but i have had an idea i like much better.... soo here goes... scratch that first concept sketch i did. ;) whew.. this thread's gotten confusing huh?

That hopper is kinda small compared to the size of your marker and cylinder...and if you are gonna go extreme, give him a more extreme gun...and some bunker busters!

which do you guys like better? the older more realistic-ish? or the New Improved Bamboo version? perfect for that ancient warrior on the go? i'm not sure what to do about the hopper/co2 stuff yet.

i'm taking suggestions if anyone as any good ideas.

I personally dont like the "ribbed" style of the new gun, maybe something along the lines of the old one, but bigger like the new one? Anyway, I think you should go all out with your sumo, how does he look with a meshsmooth on him?

hahaha.. bean fed hampster... well guys.. i've got some bad news... i woke up yesterday and it was strangly silent in my room... i couldn't hear the familiar humming of my computer...i look over and saw that for some reason my computer had turned off during the night... so i naturally hit the power button to turn it on aaaaaaaaaaand....... nothing. i think my power supply died. i've got a dual athalon mp 1.67gig with a 550 watt powersupply that i figured could power half of nepal.... but i guess that wasn't enough... soo i'm doubting i'll be able to make the deadline.

*sighs* too bad too.. i had this really good looking camoflague texture for mr. sumo's cloth thing.

here is what comes to mind when I see the bamboo marker:

the hopper should be a big open bowl full o rice balls...with the cylinder being an inflated baby panda!
