What would it take to tweak the text in global status bar to show short cut keys?
Because I have such... uhm, I forgot what's the word to describe someone with bad memory.. anyway, I tend to forget the short cuts and hate using too much mouse, so I would like to see them shortcuts like in global stat.

Is the text somewhere in the very core of Cinema, so it would be hard to get to alter them?
If it's possible, it sounds like an excellent first-time-plugin from me...

..but with my luck the first reply to this "RTFM page xxx to turn it on" :)

Well, you could also go to prefs, > Interface > Menus> Show shortcuts to have them show up with the menus. .. But once you are on a tool's icon, it doesn't make much sense to use the shortcut for it anyway....
I have done away wit the standard shortcuts, and have created my own from scratch. I find that is one of the best way s to learn a program's tools

Same here. I use my custom layout, which means lots of folded palettes.
I only go to menus when randomly needing some plugins. I can only remember basic extrude, bevel, brush etc. I use on daily basis, but cant possibly remember the more exotic tools. Even if the layout works like my legendary charm, keyboard shortcuts are way faster.

I learnt my Photoshopping fast when the popup told the tool's name and shortcut when hovering mouse over it. After a short period of not touching the app, I quickly re-learnt the shortcuts by just moving the mouse.

Well, I meant creating my one shortcuts, not just my own layout helps me to learn new programs...
But if you want to quickly see the shortcut assigned to a command, then do as I said if you access it fro the menu. Of course you may be refering to the shortcuts for the docked icons... in which case I see your point... and I guess I have no solution... it would be nice to have it as an option to the Bubble help/ status bar.

you tried pressing M on your keyboard whilst saying abracadabra?

Several times and that's why I (and Cinema) have pretty odd reputation here.

Pressing unset keys pops up a window yes. But it tells me that D is for close polygon hole and T is for extrude, among others. But ever since I started with Cinema, D has been for Extrude and so it is now. T is naturally for scale.

So I'm not sure what it's trying to tell me.

Fortunately I found "Essential Keyboard Shortcuts Collector's Card" for R8 and BodyPaint2 (and MB and Vue etc) from old 3D World mags. Valuable resource but it cant tell about the new tools in R9.

Mmm...I'm sorry. I was a bit overconfident.
I don't use many shortcuts, and I know the ones I use by heart.

Yet, pressing M shows you the so-called m-keys.
D is still for extrude, no change, but pressing m and then d within a short interval will call up the close polygon hole tool.

What you eventually could do is create a bitmap from your list of shortcuts and assign it to the luminance channel of a material assigned to a plane. If this plane is in XY, you can see it in the front viewport. Switch the plane off when you don't need it, and on when you do.

Very important new ones in 9 are V and now, in 9.1, P

Sorry again.

Heh, that's a good idea :)

I made one, sent it behind objects in scene, added look at camera expression and voila! helps me alot :)
