Title: The Last Travel
Name: Laurent Antoine Lemog
Country: France
Software: Maya

The Grand Space Opera was a very great adventure... and now a finishing adventure.

I do a lot of intermediate pictures, in the 3 months of contest, and I want to finish the story, the story I have imagined, by an altimate one... the return in earth, we imagine few years after "the first travel" (name of my GSO entry).
The scene was inspired by a "house" of the Universal Exposition of Paris, in 1900... A place of choice for the final landing... The Space Station pull by many Space Sailors, under the glances of some lucky people.

I just love art nouveau and all this time, your design is just excellent.
but I think your image could be improved a lot
the lighting is not the same quality as the designs, the background photo of paris ruins the image I think. the building and ground could have better textures too.

hope you're gonna work a bit more on this, there is a lot of potential in that image

keep it up ! :thumbsup:

Well , I must say this is a very very nice work Lolo ! (Poor computer !)
As usual , details and mood are meeting the "Lemogien" style.
Why they didn't land in Reims ?:D
I'm allways taking the same pleasure watching your work.

It's realy hard work :)
but one thing it seems to be that it is sunset time for the sky and 9:00 in the morning for the buildings. If you change the background.

Wow I really like the art nouveau feeling in the space ship. Eifeltower fits excellent in the composition looking at that.

Great work!

erlik -> Thanks :wavey:

Dezz -> The simple texturing is a choice... in adequation with the inspiration of the Universal Exhibition in 1900 at Paris... pavilions of this exposure had something of transitory... (éphèmère) I want to keep the same spirit... as something which will not last...
I hope you understand :D

thjazi -> Dérangeant, hein ? thanks for the comment anyway :)

Shadow2000 -> The Dewoitine will come back soon I think... I have some project to finish... and after, I try to continue it ;-)

scootermaya -> You're right Scooty... next step... the "parvis" of Rheims Cathedral, for exhibition... and Champagne tasting :scream:

DimitrisLiatsos -> Yes my friend... I didn't forget the last airplane... I'm waiting :twisted:

ace4016 -> Thanks man... I don't stop to work now :thumbsup:

glim -> Nostalgie... certainement... mais là, je crois vraiment que c'est la dernière image... fermez le ban...

jddog -> Merci Julien... :wavey:

trafamwa -> I know that's can disturb a bit... I search a romantic mood, near of a XIX century feeling... I do some test... and I keep this one :beer:

max lover -> As I write it before... the building was not a real old one, it's not historical recreation, but inspired by an ephemere thing, build only the Universal Exposition... what offer us something of a little stripped.

markovicd. -> many thanks my friend Marko :buttrock:

Elendil le Grand -> Merci beaucoup mon grand :bounce:

Pjanssen -> Thanks... I'm really happy you like this composition. :bowdown:

thjazi -> Dérangeant, hein ?

ah oui .................. c'est ça ................. :)

02-16-2005, 11:28 AM

XLNT 3d -> you can imagine the real weight of a real metallic wire of this size... I think a man can't really do straight line... and the aspect was more sweet like that...

grundgedanke ->:bowdown:

esper77 -> Thanks :thumbsup:

ktamiola -> Thank you... it's a great honor for me you compare my pictures with this quality game !

geneticlone -> :beer:

AHMED-3D -> Thank you guy :blush:

Dimitris -> I don't have a large place on my ftp... I send you PM soon :drool:

XLNT 3d -> you can imagine the real weight of a real metallic wire of this size... I think a man can't really do straight line... and the aspect was more sweet like that...

Ultimately, your vision is what counts. Yes it is an awesome render and concept. I actually rated it 5 starts. I would have given it 6 if the lines were tight.

However, "real metallic wire" is known as "aircraft cable". You do handle it with gloves and you can pull it tight. I was a student pilot with hotair balloons and a crew chief for several years. We used several different guages of these cables for tethers and other circumstances. I have used them with commercial blimps as well. They can only be so heavy if the craft is meant to fly or stay aloft. I know..blah blah blah. Where was that post on how "Polite ways to eject from a conversation? (http://cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=210896)"? Sorry.

Any way, it is an awesome piece.

Hi! very nice! But two questions... Why doesn't the flying thing ( sorry for my ignorence) isn't projecting a shadow and i think the background plane stands out as a photo... everything else is top notch!

Hi Antoine. Your GSO entry was one of my favorites. It has a different sense form the most of the entries. Congratulations! About the present image I like it a lot, but I agree with the topic of light, more than the place fo the focus I think it is a problem of color. The foreground has a very white bright light, different fron the clouds and the sky that are more yellow, sunset like. Everything but this is great.

Texxx, Dimimitris, Necron 99 -> Thanks guys :love:

linen_umbrella -> Too much "clean" ? :scream: you're right... that's to have a picture more resting, to finish the GSO story.

Vassago0666 -> Thanks man... for the SpaceStation shadow, it was out of framing...

kaparo -> I can assure you that the pavilion... without colored light I used was less yellow and blue artefacts. That certainly appears softened a little by the apparent homogeneity. Anyway, thanks à lot for your comments :)

Gpepper -> I don't know exactly if you're right... but I could not imagine that. Merci Professeur :bounce:
