View Full Version : Exploding water tower
rkern 02-15-2005, 01:17 AM I'm working on an animation in which a water tower explodes but I'm having difficulty getting the water to where I'm happy with it. Any Suggestions on how to achieve this?
I'm still relatively new to Cinema so I still have a lot to learn about it....
I've attached the current state of the animation...it's early on and crits are always welcome... still needs much work....

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

For the water you could try to use your current particle system but with spheres in a metanurbs object as particels. The animation of the particles looks quite good.
I guess the animation of the scene is not finished but here's what I saw:
- roof falling down
- body of the tower intersecting with the ladder
I like the deformation of the water tank. Maybe you can add some visible cracks where the water first leaks out

Thanks for the response... I'll give the MetaNurbs a try... was hoping to avoid the long render time of using Metanurbs... but what the heck.......
Details are not finished yet..but thanks a lot for the input.... Plan on having the top pop off ... spin in the air and land on top... ladder fall off over the side....
