View Full Version : 3ds max to Plasma
Xilica 09-14-2002, 09:24 PM I have a spinning 3D cube that I made in 3ds max 5.
Will Plasma help me do:
1. Open up my .Max file and make it a .swf file
2. Allow me to make my .Max animation an animated link when hovered over
Thanks.

It says you can open your Max files into Plasma. I do not know how to do this.

I can answer your first question.
When you start plasma just goto file open like normal and choose what max file you want to open. when you goto the render tab look for the file type and just choose swf and then render. i dont know how well it holds max textures and things like that as i havent really used plasma to great depth yet.
hope this helps

It only allows me to open Plasma files. It won't allow .Max files to open.

Have you tried exporting your file as ".3DS", it is the first format Max shows when exporting.
I hope this will help.
Good luck.

No I have not. 3ds max normally sets the default of .max though.

3DStudioMax4 ONLY sets the default of ".MAX" when SAVING a file. However, when Exporting its default is ".3DS".

Well I'm using 3ds max and, repeat and, using the Demo Plasma. Does the word Demo have anything to do with why .max is an invalid file type for opening it?
