Howdy there! I must say that the quality of the work here is almost intimidating! I'm attempting to incorporate both a sense of roughness and detail in my style. Please don't hesitate to be honest with my work; although it's my first post here, I really want to get better. Thanks!

nice sujet and athmosphere. the light situation is interesting. at the moment, to much of the image is centered on space where nothing happens. and the charcter should be more in focus. don't avoud to draw hands and other important detail. face and hands are most important to a charcter. and proportions are not right yet. the head is much to big. think about adding a rim light from the right, maybe a blueish / cold light to create a contrast to the warm outer main light.
nice start so far, but you started a bit to early with color... before the sketch acually worked. that's no real problem in this stage - just select the head and scale it down for instance.

Hi Espen, thanks for your reply! I tried to fix the issues with the hand and giant head. Admittedly, my experience with backlighting is close to none, so I hope it doesn't look demented...
