quite an awesome model, and textures look very nice. The only thing that seems abit off, are his eyes, they seem that either they shouldn't be glowing so much, or the metal around them should be cut out abit more to make them look more inset or attached..

Awesome texturing and bump mapping. I also like how you gave it a depth of field effect (is that what it's called in lightwave?).

I like it, very nice/original design & texturing
My comment would be that it looks like it's standing straight up relative to the camera, but not the background -- as if falling over forwards.

Hi, The little cartoon style like me, but i think the bump channel its too hard, perhaps could be a litte more smooth, but its a good work great model.

Awesome piece. The lighting is perfect. But be careful with depth of field. Did you do that in post? When your depth of field become too close, like it is, things begin to look very small. The general rule of thumb is the larger things are supposed to be, the larger the range of focus, the smaller they are supposed to be, the shorter the range.
To me, it looks like it maybe only a foot tall or so.
But awesome work, great model/textures

very cool nice work!!
one thing, there is a line running just under his left shoulder, my guess it's a masking problem from the flare on his shoulder!! other than that perfect!!

Amazing work man!
I only think that the left hand it's to much out of focus...in photography, this level of depth of field appear in macro. I think that this touch give to your robot a toy effect...
It's only my humble opinion ;)
However it's a great work for me! 4Star! ;)

J'aime bien le design
Mais j'aurais quand meme un petit reproche à faire sur la lumiere dans les yeux qui ne semble pas etre bien integrée à l'image .
sinon la profondeur de champs est peut etre un peu exagérée sur la main en premier plan.
tres beau rendu sinon.

Excellent.
edit: oui c'est vrai ya un petit probleme au niveau des yeux, ca s'integre pas trop.

Yea, I dont seem to have access to Wiro's site anymore but his robot had that same metal plating, he wrote a tutorial on it. Anyways, looks good.
textures look very nice.

Great lighting and coloring. Nice to see Lightwave work on the front page as well.
agreed! finaly, some good LW work. as a fellow LW user at heart (but forced to work in maya on the job), i feel times are few and far between when people post good LW images on cgtalk. im happy to see there are still users out there who know how to use it to its full potential and turn out great images. keep up the good work.

WoW Sweeet model man, a excellent rendering... would like to see a full view of the robot...
only thing i can say is that the hand is to much out of focus, it's been mentioned before... but it kinda draws the attention in the wrong direction when your looking at the pic...
you still get 4* from me ;) very good job man!

Yes Phalynx is totally righteous in his opnion. There is no way Dude that his left hand would be so in focus as opposed to the background.....

are the eyes painted later on? Cause they dont look like they are resting on the correct plane. Might be some trick of the perspective though.
Thank you for your constructives critics.:)
It's true , eyes were made too fast , the "DOF" and the center camera aren't right.
I'll do better next time...

that's fantastic! i love the texturing!!! i would maybe like to see a bit more of that tree to the right... to really get a sense of scale and add a bit more greenery :)
excellent work... one comment though, since the left hand and the plant are both in front of the infocus body, they should both be blurred, not just the hand....
