It's been so long I'd almost forgotten how to post!
She's a classic beauty indeed. Those eyes. The shape of her face. That slender long neck *sigh* Looked at a few pictures via Google and then started sketching away on a piece of paper. Added some grey colors in PS with a mouse (a few of you might remember my aversion to colors!). Ended up a little stylized maybe?

Pencil on paper then scanned and colored in PS - 25min.

I believe Audrey Hepburn is one of the most beautiful women of the 20th century. I don't think I can possibly capture her beauty in a sketch... and I'm not really in a sketch-mood today, anyway.

I just want to say, though - gorgeous work everyone. I love how you manage to capture the almost whimsical touch to her appearance.

I did a tiny little thing, took me about ten minutes (photoshop) -

It's absolutely stunning what you can do in just a couple of mins Enayla.

It's really a pleasure to have artists like you in the daily sketch forum...
Your work reminds me that I've still a long way to go and keeps me focused at the same time.

Keep it up... :applause: :applause:

(Sorry I just had to write that now...)

Photoshop, Wacom, 50 minutes. Don't think I got the proportions of her face quite right but I'm pretty happy with it.:)

Hey thanx for the welcome Goro! Feels good to be back. I've missed way too many topics! Hopefully i don't miss too many more. And you know i always look forward to your entries (when i get a chance to browse that is)!
Nice stuff all. The standards hereabouts have grown by leaps and bounds since i last drove by. Checked out some of the older topics and the stuff being displayed are awesome! Especially those incredible digital paints. What's a pencil-and-paper guy gonna do eh?

Enayla you're exactly one of the people i'm talking about with those killer paint skills!

Hi all, only my second post here - just got my wacom, so I decided to try and post here everyday... Well, TRY I said...

I don't know anything about pretty Audrey actually, so I was quite unfocused and eventually
got bored after 45 mins. Anyway, Painter, with a reference.

Here is my first attempt at daily sketch. Due to my lack of a tablet and not too advanced knowledge of photoshop (both situations hopefully soon to be rectified) it is basically a scanned in pencil drawing.

35 min sketch, 5 min messing about in ps

Aw, thanks :}

Gorgeous work, everyone, I'm so loving this thread. Interesting to see different interpretations of the same woman.

I went and did another one *shamefaced* I found a few pictures of her that I really liked and decided that I could probably pull an okay likeness off, so I sketched a bit and there she was :] Took me about forty, fifty minutes, something -

Wow, Enayla... I usually really like your work anyway, but this one's absolute cuteness... I think I'll go and rent one of her movies so I can check out if she's really that pretty :)

I just couldn't resist. I too think she was amazing.

White Rabbit - Thanks :] And she certainly is. She has an almost fairy-like charm. Slim and fragile with sparkling, lively eyes. Completely out of this world.

KOryH -- I think that's a wonderful likeness, and beautiful skintones to boot. Love the gaze.

Love the topic, I do believe Audrey Hepburn is one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the silver (And color, hehe) screen.

I like that second one a lot. The first one was nice too, but you've really got a nice likeness going with this one.

Nice color pallette. What did you do to get that texture? Very nice.

Wow Roberto -very cool. Big thumbs up from me. I think that is my favorite daily sketch of yours I've seen since I've been here.

Man, I really liked my own when I first posted it. But the more posts that get added to this thread, the sadder mine looks. That's actually what is so great about this forum. I constantly feel challenged to do better by all the great artists that are a part of this.

Nice color pallette. What did you do to get that texture? Very nice.

Thanks crazy3dman. I'm using Photoshop CS. I made the textures with a default brush called chalk.

KOryH: I think you've already got a great likeness! Looks awesome!

Great topic, even better pictures!
Here's my lame attempt, 40 minutes with photoshop, taking MUCH inspiration from Enayla's color tutorials.
There are so many great pics today that I can't comment on them all. I will say that so far my favourites include:
Robertnitiredjo: Great stylised version!! I really like this one.
Zebula: Lovely 50s atmosphere!
Bloodstone: Great pose and colors.
Thany: Your 2nd is my favourite of the group & will be getting my vote!
KoryH: Just great. Really.
Enayla: Your second pic is SO ZINGY! i love it!
Crazy3d man: I love the way you used simple lines and it looks the most like her out of all of them!
Drawmonger: Really good! Level up for this guy, please!

This took forever because my poor thumb isn't really up to this yet, I have no clue how long it took...3 or 4 hours? PS/Wacom. Here is the reference picture (http://www.k-squared.com/audrey_ref.jpg) I used.

I just had to do this, she is one of my absolute favorites. If you went to the dictionary to look up words like class, elegance, dignity, grace, beauty, ethereal - you would find her picture there!

There are so many beautiful drawings, paintings, sketches here. WOW! Everyone has done an amazing job! Everyone deserves :applause:

Hey thanks paperclip

- I think everyone did a super job on this one. Good job on your work. Maybe someday I will get down to 40 min. (sigh). I screwed up the eyes on this one (not the first time :D ), I will see if I have time to fix it.

Really wanted to do something alternative with Audrey but it became a bit too complex, didnt have time in the weekend so finished it up today (but i think it was worth it), in total must have been around 150min, Audrey in Painter, Camera and film in Illustrator.
There is some symbolism but no time to fully explain it, a few keywords: limitations, making love to the camera, perfect reference/statue

Alice: Absolutely beautiful! I loved everyone's take on her young beauty, but you captured her seasoned elegance!

Robin: Looks great with your bum thumb! The one thing that might make a difference (that I see). It looks like her left eye is too round. She had such almond shaped eyes. What if you tried pulling that one out a bit, what would it look like? Awesome job, though!
