View Full Version : architechture render
Dascrewup 02-11-2005, 05:34 PM hi
I am wondering how one can create these kind of renders? http://www.sytrondesign.com/
the interior modelling looks simple but is it possible to create a similar effect using mental ray?
Thanx in advance

Textures are doing it for these images. And vray (I believe). Look at the stickies for more information on a vray look in mental ray

Im pretty sure your looking at the new maxwell renderer. Ive seen some of those pics on the maxwell site.

hi
Yes its maxwell.:)
But i wanted to know is it possible to create a similar effect using mental ray.
another question regarding glass in max?
If i have a box/edge connect/ i make a window. Now do i detach that box that is now the [window] and add a material to it or can i select it as a polygon and add a glass material?
But when i do that only one side has the glass property [ you can see through it] and the other side is normal [ not see through ] why is that?
thirdly if i shine a spotlight outside the window or interior the light does not go througt like in real life?
this is my setup?
a Box or 4 planes / glass windows / skylight set to 1 or 2 / direct spot light set to 1 /
GI 150 - 200 photons / FG maxR 16 - minR 0.5
thats it maybe an ambient onmi set inside the interior at 0.2
thanx maybe someone can guide me! :)

cinema 4d too has the power to produce lightings like those.. anyway, in spite of being happy for such innovations (like the heavy maxwell).. i'm already tired of those unsignificant renderings. with these new i-do-it-all-for-you rendering engines, i think we are being overwhelmed by too many simple and unexpressive images.
i mean: these are very basic scenes, there is no modeling work.. no real shading research and most of all no real photographic artwork. there's just a global illumination that does it all.
nevermind.
