View Full Version : Exploding objects in 3d max using particle flow

i was wonder if any one can tell me if theres a way other than using a bomb space warp to break apart or blow up a object, i have CG Academy AfterBurn Masters DVD, where allan mckay blows up a teapot, but i wanna no how he does it

the old way was to do it with a particle array and select "object fragments". check the online help. He's also done a tutorial where he uses the quickfrag script and a bit of PFLOW scripting.

Unfortunately AllanMcKay.com is down right now (domain/hosting issues). It should be up soon. Basically the way I went about breaking a teapot is that I wrote a script to fragment the object, and then I read in all the transform and trimesh data into my pflow script. If you use parray you're going to get exactly the same results, as I used parray to fracture my object. Nothing too fancy here.

thanks - will be doing some more soon, a lot more hands on than the last...
yeah my site's down, hopefully back up soon. quite frustrating as I have a lot of new material I want to put up.

For the most part i was wondering if you were ever going to be doing some thinking particles tourtials and so on like you do with pflow.
