Hello everyone!!

I've recently finished my new reel.
I had to render many scenes though with limited use of regular lights and rigs and without
the use of GI as to save on render time. I've invested a lot of effort into my works and as
well as my Demo Reel and I really hope you'll like it.

Note:
Turn up the volume! :)

Words can't describe your work! amazing!
-something little...at the very start, where it says the movie is being loaded, "being" is spelled wrong.

Verrry nice. I hope I'm not biased - I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic themes. I liked the music, the sync with the music (and lyrics), the pacing - very well done imo.

Some people may consider 4:00 too long for a demo reel, but I didn't mind watching it. Either way, if you find the need to shorten it, I think you could be safe with cutting it at 2:10 (where the music slows) and still have a very strong reel to show - I think the quality and continuity/consistency make it your stronger stuff anyway.

Good work :).

Haha, I just noticed our site names...

you got some nice stuff on there, overall a strong real, but I really think you should concider taking that woman on the subway out of it, she really did not do anything for me

anyway gj

Absolutely wonderful! Seriously fantastic work.

My only crit, and it's not really a bad thing, is that your colors seem to be pretty desaturated. This obviously is part of your visual style, and works (especially for the beginning clips on the reel), but at the same time I feel like i'm missing some richer tones when viewing your some of your work.

hey thanks for posting this little gem.....it has really inspired me do make something
into a little video clip.....also the music was really an excellent choise...it went perfectly with this....

i really like the guys tha are sitting on the ground and get stuff blown in their face....the models are strange but it really gives it a down and out feeling..again goes well with the music....

Once again well done!!!

Wow, that is an incredible reel. I've admired your stuff here for a while. My no. 1 favourite is the sci-fi outpost thingy (42 seconds in). Generally, your humans don't work as well as your environments, but I say keep them in, cause they're still pretty well done. 5 stars from me!

Cheers,
- Jonas

Then you should PM a mod and ask him/her to plug it, that's how plugging works. :)

Cheers,

Yep seconding the front page plug here (and pming mod), gorgeous reel, texturing and lighting work is incredible, nice one!

Pacing is good for such a long reel, only crit would be that some of the shots with the large black borders feel like they should have been cropped at the top and bottom rather than sqeezing them into a tighter format...

Cool to see all these works I've enjoyed over the past months come together in one reel and one guy. It works very well, most of 'em even seem to be in the same general setting which is something you don't see much in a reel.
The problem with concentrating on these grungy ghost city areas is that its a bit strange when you start showing other stuff after a while. But its handled well enough, the music kind of indicates a change of pace too. And whatever happens later, you sure blow em away at the beginning! I like the industrial power plant best.
-henning

ps The subway woman disturbed me, but im not sure you should take her out. What if at the very end of her shot, her eyes darted to the camera... and then quick cut! Even more disturbing...

That's really strong, The materials and textures are really convincing. I didn't mind the woman even though she's the only human face you clearly see but I actually thought the slow push in on her face was unsettling which is a good sensation to be able to crerate. You basically feel sorry for her but scared of her at the same time.
All that said there's one minor thing aboout the environments: in the outdoor Shots Like the Gas station by the highway, The cornfields, or the Mill you make your background very flat. It might even be a stylistic choice but in the Gasstation shot for example you have this strong perspective with the road and it hits a wall where the buildings are standing. They are all lined up perpendicular to the eye line. Which makes it all look like a studio rather than a realisticly devastated cityscape.

But that aside I really appreciated watching your reel, I usually am not impressed by modeling reels but yours is definitely worth the look !

Incredible work.
But i think thats kinda low to put real footage at the end, like we would believe that the razor and the cactus were CG....... I KNOW THEY'RE REAL
lol im joking :P

Absolutely stunning stuff. I've watched the reel three times already, I'm sort of hypnotised by it.

I couldn't see the name of the artist doing the song anywhere, though? Excellent choice of music, I'd just like to be able to get hold of it.

Good sence of atmosphere. The haze adds to the realizm to go along with your camera work. Your musical choice is so well done that I was expecting "the lighter" to actually spark and create a flame to time with the music (something to think about). Well done.

for those who ask about the song, i mentioned it in the end credits of the reel.

Chanchito gives this two thumbs up! very consistent theme. I guess you're fishing for an environment artist position, although the woman in the beginning wasn't bad

Good job!

Exceptional Demo Reel - You shouldn't have much trouble finding work with this at all.

Deserves a Front Page plug!

Well you've allready heard me saying this, but I'll say it again - loved this style, the desaturated colors, interesting camera angles and movements, and mostly the dirty textures, all wrapped up in a great soundtrack - That's a winner demoreel!

I see that you got a lot of overwhelmed reactions here - happy for you, and I also give you 5 stars.
