"Toho announced that Miyazaki will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement (http://www.labiennale.org/en/cinema/leoni/index.html) at the 62nd Venice International Film Festival this August.

He isn't only behind some animes made in the past few years, a lot of TOP quality anime shows that used to air on TV when I was young were his creation. Japanese animation was not always about giant robots and pokémons.
