Ah, finally something to post....
Since I have a different dayjob, I'll have to stick to this during the weekends.

This is supposed to be a raider-vehicle, made by different parts of scrap-vehicles.

Still a lot to do, but hey, it's a start.

pretty cool !
wonder how the seat is going to look like...not sure about the handle bar, is this going to be driven by a long-arm mutant or is he/she going to sit on the tank. Speaking of which, what is the purpose of the tank in front if there are those extra tanks in the back ?

The front light could look a bit more menacing IMHO, and maybe make the front tire a bit more 'all terrain' ?

Look forward to seeing more...very nice detail on the engine and the threads. I can almost see the flames coming out of the bad-ass exhaust :)

Well, I managed to get something done today.
Not much but it's a progress, right?
Gonna add some accessories later, and cables and wires, lots of wires...

Since no one bothers commenting on this thing, I guess it's because the darn thing is too darn boring... ;)
Well, I'm not letting that getting in my way, so here's a few updated renderings.
It's starting to take shape now, although it's quite a lot of work that still needs to be done.
The tank in front is made into a gun/glove-compartment and the front tire is "more all-terrain"
Since I want this to be made out of scraps and stuff, I still have to make a lot of nurnies....

Now PLEASE comment, or I'll run over you all with it when I'm done.... (that's a rather scary thought, huh?)

look who is talking, you have not given any feedback to anybody either ! So, to make up for it, go to my thread and give me some feedback (nobody bothers giving me feedback either...) :p

I love all the details on your vehicle. The glove compartiment idea is a nice touch, it stresses the 'made out of other parts' concept, neat. I think it needs some more 'stuff' at the front, maybe some sculptural foot rests or something.

what is the antenna for ?

I like it.

nice concept, great detail.

seems like all you need to do now is texture it and make it really aged.

:D

great tank wheels!!! how?

I think you have to improve your render... although it's wip yet.;)

Come on! there are few vehicules and thisone is very cool!

Hey, very cool vehicle. Are you gonna add some thing for the feet? right now there's no place to put them. Also, your seat seem to have a piece for the head, and since that's how tall the rider would be, it looks like the rider would be too small to reach for the staring handles or would have to lean forward. So maybe make the seat a bit aller. Then again, I'm not sure if I'm right. Maybe put a biped there for now, just to see.

Anyays, other then that, I like it lots. Sorry about my english, I hope I explain myself allright. :-)

looks promising.

what is it's main purpose?
i think the steering handles are too far away, but it will look cool whan it is ready i am sure.

Thanks for the comments, folks.

The main purpose of the vehicle is raiding and poaching.
I agree with you all that I should make some adjustments to the steering-system.
I'm currently wondering if I should move the drivers seat over to one side to make room for a gunner on top of the other side, if I'm sticking to my poacher-idea....gotta think it over...
I still have to work on the main body of the vehicle to make room for a few compartments to keep gathered stuff in...
Still a lot of wiring to do, mainly from the steering handles.

Wow. Mucho WWII!
I like it alot. The details are great. I like the antenna.
One question:
Where do the driver put his/her feet?

Capt Lightwave

Update:

I decided to go for the poacher-approach, and added a small metal-plated gun-platform on one side with room enough for a single gunman to defend the vehicle while the driver (which finally got something to rest his feet on) is taking care of *his* business.
Still need to take care of the steering-distance....

I haven't gotten 'round to doin' too much texturing yet, since I'm tied up all day at work doing CAD (yuch).
Most work is yet to be done on the main body.

Very Very Cool !! Dude I dig this vehicle. Very nice stuff
indeed. Probably not getting as much attention as you'd
like cause it's not in the character section, sheesh !!

One of the best I've seen, well IMHO, that includes all
the characters I've seen too, but then I am a sucker for
vehicles and loads of details.

Cheers, Capt, nice work !!

(2nd pager :p) Looks good! Defintely time to texture! Good detail allround. Could you put it in a slightly less detailed evironment, as a main character it derserves good staging :D

see you,

Thanks a bunch for the comments, folks, very uplifting ! :)

I created a character (or two) to show some proportions.
Since I'm not that good at modeling characters they will NOT be updated...unless there's a miracle waiting to happen. ;)

Here's a couple of cel-shaded images of the two villains.

Thats one cool concept Captain :D Love the details. Those outdooor shots are great. When i looked at the second image it reminded me of the Mars Rover with the dish and all. Looks a bit like Mars too. Great work Captain! Wicked ride.

I'm not done with the texturing yet, so I'm just posting the results so far.
I'm posting the conseptual designs for the gunner and the driver of the vehicle....and a scout.

Looks like a nice start on the texturing, just remember to add custom maps here and there on the larger objects for ware n' tear and breakup :) Good design on the characters- are you modeling them or drawing them into the final ?

see you,

Farley13

Thanks for the comments.

The last image was just a screencapture from Lightwave and shows only 1 layer of textures. ;(

The characters will not be modeled in this round as I've got way too much work to do as it is, and I'm not good enough to draw them into anything, but I kinda like them, so it's not unthinkable that you'll see them sometime in the future.

It seems that your vehicle is about to be finished soon! Good work! I do, however, look forward to when all wiring is ... er... wired? ;)
