View Full Version : Mental Ray Disappears

Every now and then I get a problem with Maya. In my render globals, where I choose which renderer I want to use, mental ray stops showing up. It's no longer selectable as my renderer. This seems to just happen out of the blue for no reason and I have no idea how to make it come back without reinstalling Maya. Does this ever happen to anyone else? And does anyone know how to make it reappear?

Sometimes when a Maya plug-in crashes, the next time Maya loads it won't load that plug-in again. To reload mental ray simply go to: Window -> Setings/Preferences -> Plug-in Manager and make sure to check the boxes next to Mayatomr.mll.
