View Full Version : mental ray: bump maps on dielectric_material?

Hi, does anyone know how to apply a bump map to mental ray's dielectric_material? I found the instructions for adding bump maps to the dgs_material in [Maya apppath]\devkit\mentalray\docs\gettingStarted\textureShaders_bump.html, however I'm not sure how to apply this method to the dielectric_material. Thanks.

btw, many nice mental ray test renders in this forum.

Sorry, I'm a newbie and didn't properly search the forums. I've found the answer (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=160109), again sorry about the noise.:shrug: I'm in bumped glass heaven, along with UsefulPhen (http://www.bmcaff.com/) and ReflectionUtility (http://www.impresszio.hu/szabolcs/MentalRay/ReflectionUtility/) I now also have bumpcombiner (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/shaders/), what a wonderful community!
