Hello to all the people of CGtalk
A while ago as a response to Interplay’s executives’ decision to cancel the development of Van Buren better known as Fallout 3, I decided to start a fan project to make another part of the series for both the people that have long been waiting on a new part of this series and to show that not all Fallout fans are just talk a no action.
So far we have put together a basic premise and one of our members, a professional programmer, has been working on a complete new engine for the project. However what we now really need are people with graphic skills to create new material for the engine.
People with animation skills are also welcome as we would also like to create intro and end scenes for the game and of course in-game material.
A basic description for those who might not know what Fallout is. The Fallout game series are RPGs plus one RPG / Tactical game that takes place on an Earth after a nuclear war destroyed most of civilization.
The series takes a lot of inspiration of the 1950’s look of what the future might have been, futuristic technology such as thinking computers and energy weapons share places with strange mutations such as gigantic insects, mutated mammals and human mutants such as Ghouls and Super Mutants.
Humanity pretty much has to start over again and the world of Fallout is ruled by anarchy with only a few relative safe locations.
Requirements, well on the moment every position basically is open, some knowledge on the Fallout game series might be useful but I am sure that we can explain and visualise it for anyone who is interested to join but has never played the game series before.
