View Full Version : Compatible video card list
The-G-Man 02-08-2005, 02:23 PM I thought it may be helpful to existing users having problems, or new users about to embark, if forum members would be kind enough to post video card details which are working with Messiah for them without problem.
Thanks in advance.
Perhaps the mods could then make this sticky?

On my desktop, my Geforce 5900XT runs fine as well. On my Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop with a GeForce 5200Go messiah runs fine at a resolution of 1024x768, but on higher resolutions the text fields are blank and some icons are missing.

I got around my own initial problem with the an Ati 9800SE card NOT working with Messiah by adding in an old Matrox Millenium PCI card which then worked a treat. Moral: your card doesn't have to be a 'latest model'.
Keep 'em coming as this will certainly help others ( if not the Messiah team if they're reading this). ;)

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128 mb ram) soft modded to a FireGl X1 using the default profile or the Maya for NT profile. I run one monitor at 1600X1200 and another at 1024X768 and I have yet to run into any problems (Messiah is maximized in the larger monitor) other than slow redraw times when minimizing/maximizing the app or switching between apps (and that might be more OS related than card related).

Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5600 - no issues at all running on an HP laptop at 1440 x 900
Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT - refresh issues in text fields, onion-skin like persistence-of-vision when dragging shader nodes, overlapping of text fields on overlapping shader nodes.

Gainward GeForce Ti4800SE with 128 MB runs perfectly (*) with all Drivers.
(*)The only problem are the visually "missing polygons" in some models in the viewport, but AFAIK this is a problem that happens with all GeForce cards as soon as you use Drivers above 4x.xx

I'm considering buying a new, standard Dell PC which comes with the nVidia 6800. Are there still problems with this card? What I've read so far isn't too encouraging.
Daniel
Nothing changed until now for the 6800 problem. Let's hope that the next patch will do something about it...

The PCX Geforce 5750 from AOpen works great with default drivers
Had to change the fan on the card to get rid of the noise tough :wip:
