View Full Version : Particle Meshes
maddav99 02-10-2002, 09:11 AM I tried to post this before I left on vacation, but I'm not sure if it made it or not, either way I can't find it so I figured I'd post it again. Is there any way to render a particle as a poly mesh a la 3ds max to have, say, a broken window shatter in to large pieces and then to shatter in to smaller on impact with the floor, or am I confined to either use a shatter effect or try to fandangle some sort of sprite? If I am confined to the shatter effect, is there any way to fake it to get it to render faster.

It sounds you triying to Instance geometry with particles, to perform dinamics actions. Try to read the html help file --- file:///C:/AW/Maya4.0/docs/en_US/html/UserGuide/Dynamics/Particles14a.html#186186 --- or something like Rigid bodies --- file:///C:/AW/Maya4.0/docs/en_US/html/UserGuide/Dynamics/RigidBodies.html#179707 . Try.
