View Full Version : portrait :: amelia waiting
lulaassassina 02-07-2005, 06:52 PM I've made this drawing this afternoon, with a Rotring ArtPen, and I thought it would be nice to color it.
This is not the final lineart, I have to clean it up and correct some bits of it.
Here it is:

Hey there,
Awesome artwork. The green one makes her look bored. Blue one makes ME look at it.

I like mostly my BW draws, too. That's why I'm keeping it on a separate file. Thank you for your kind words! :)
AirbORn:
I'm planning a light coming from the left side, like if there was a window there. The background is a wall behind her. And that's all.
Viekoslav:
Hmm... convinced! :D

OK, I've tryed to blend the shadow line. It doesn't work, does it? Maybe I should try more hard-line shadows, I guess.
C&C appreciated.

I like the soft edge, but you may have to blur the edge of her right cheek to be consistent. Also, I noticed that the shadow on her arm is too straight, so it looks like a prism.

I'd go for the sharp shadows, to me they fit the pic better.
then again, I haven't seen it with all blurred shadows so i don't know :D

Squibbit and Ilikesoup:
I think that I'm going for the sharp-edge shadows. But I also agree with Ilikesoup. But here's what I'm going to do: I'll paint an ambient light, soft shadows for volumetry; then, I'll paint the spotlight shadows. Maybe I'll get better results, this way.
What do you think about this process?
