Darnit, it blurs, but it blurs the whole image, not the cylinder..

1. Select the "Pixel Selection" Tab
2. Uncheck "Whole Image"
3. Check "Object ID"
4. Specify Object ID number, let's say 8
5. Hit the "Add Button"
6. Make sure the cylinder has its ID set to 8 by selecting the cylinder and then rightclicking on it to reveal the Object Properties Dialog. Where it reads "Object Channel" - set that equal to 8
7. Render Scene
That should do it.:)
