CGTalk - unwarp a bump map

i have an object with unwarp modifier, diffuse map and bump map.
but it seems as if the unwarp doesn't work on the bump map.
did anyone ran into a problem like this?
should i just use the displacement map instead?

Make sure your bump map uses the same texture channel as your diffuse map? MAX has no texture channel issues with bump maps, so you can pretty much decide exactly how it is to be layed out.

If that doesn't help feel free to elaborate on your problem, I may be failing to understand the issue :shrug:
