Looking good. One thing on the rims, It is usually a good idea not to have intersecting geometry like that on the wheels where the spokes meet the rim. It should all be connected polygons, sometimes when you just intersect things like that you can end up with jagged lines along that edge when it renders. Also the rotors look warped or something. The cross drills look distorted for some reason. Overall its a good start. Keep up the good work.

wow... that is amazing... I think its a very good piece of art u got right there. I wish I could do that well in Maya, but im getting there. I dont really see anything wrong with it, but I dont know everything all these other guys do. Keep up the amazing work!

That's not a big problem, I'll fix that later, now I'm concentrated on some more important things...

Yeah, I know, I wasn't satisfied with that so I remodeled brake disks...I think they look much better now.
(2nd image-only meshsmoothed once...sorry for that, my mistake...:argh: )

Still the ultimate sportscar to me! I'm curious what you'll make of it but the starts seems very good!

Whats up with those brake discs ? Why are those holes so messed up ? Looks like you extruded quads. Look, use a 6 sided cylinder to make one hole, then copy that hole with some surrounding geometry 4 times, then ull have 5 holes. Then complete that "piece" of your disk, then duplicate it around. That's the way you gotta do it. Unlessss of course you want to achieve high quality by using 4-sided holes :|

Try beveling your holes more (sharper edges). Show me the wire plz.

Grrrr, I hate those brake disks, I got some big problems with modeling them so I'm gonna remodel them, but first I need to do the rest of the car...

So here is a little update, (on the rear) so what do you think guys...

Looking really nice clean modelling and great shaders too. Not so sure about the colour though, mabye a silver or black. Just personal opinion though. anyway keep it up

Looking very good, but i think that the tires arent supposed to reflect that much.

i like the test renders alot but the edges seem jaged you might wanna change some settings in witch ever render engine your using to sort that out.

still great model and cant wait to see it finished

Thanks for those nice comments guys... :)

Chalkie: Yeah, I'm not satisfied with colour too, I was planing to render one image with black car paint, reflecting a HDRI image (maybe some composting), and the other render with a silver car paint, but this one should look like a photo taken in studio...

MartenU: I'm not pretty sure on what were you thinking about when you said that they're too reflective, tires or rims ? I think that you were talking about rims, so I'll lower the reflectivity a bit, and I'm gonna make them a little brighter...

M@DM@X: I'm using mental ray for maya...This is just a test render, so in the next render I'll change some anti-aliaising settings, and I think that those edges will look much better then.

I'll post some more updates during the day

Cheers

I was talking about the tires.
Have a look at the picture you posted earlier: http://img169.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img169&image=felna8bx.jpg
I just think that the tires are a bit too shiny. And the rims too actually.

you have some sort of smoothing problem(s) with the tail pipes. Keep it up it's looking good.

MartenU: Ok, thanks man, I'll fix that...don't worry...;)

Alles: Hi, you're from Slovenia...I've been there a few times...my grandma lives in Ljubljana, and my mom was born there too...Very nice country. Anyway thanks for your comment...
btw. I've seen your WIP porsche Gt3, very nice vork so far

Flex Giddy: Nah, there are no smoothing problems, that's just a strange reflection, you can se it clearly in this pic http://img147.exs.cx/img147/1445/carrerarear1qc.jpg

just a few crits on the rear, otherwise looking very sweet!

there should be a horizontal edge that runs all around the rear (which you do have) but it runs with where the white divides the red in the lights (if you get my meaning lol). actually, that sounds confusing... i'll just post a pic of yours with some roughly drawn (very roughly drawn) lines... and i'll add a real image too.

Yeah, I see what you mean grimbeaver, I haven't noticed that before...so, I'll fix it now...
btw. That rear shot you posted (the real one, not my model :) looks strange to me, I think it's not just porsche carrera, looks like there's a letter written after it (on the rear logo),maybe I's porsche Carrera 911 s, but anyway, I'm using this image as reference-

Now that you bring that picture up, i can see where you are coming from. If i am not mistaken, the yellow porsche you just posted is a 997, whereas the picture i posted was a 996 (which i assumed you were doing). Thats the problem with Porsche's these days... they all look the same haha. That's probably why it looks a bit different from the image i posted.

996:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/grimbeaver/91120.jpg

997:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/grimbeaver/Porsche-997-Carrera-067.jpg

Hope that helps... anyways keep up the great work!

(ps: the letter after the Carrera is a "4"... which they don't make anymore with the 997.)
