View Full Version : How to apply particle shader presets ?

Does anyone know how to apply the particle shader presets "Sim PTypes"
from the shader presets toolbar (application/toolbars/shader presets) ?
I was hoping that I could just drop them on an emitter,
but that doesn't work.
Any hint where to drop or how to apply?

I would have thought the name "PType" for the preset would have been enough of a hint that you have to drop it/load it on... duh! a Ptype :)
an emitter is just a primitive in charge of placing the freshly emitted particles somewhere.
while the PType is the element in the cloud that defines the subelements behavior of its particles.
I know it can be confusing in the beginning (the whole XSI particle system can be), but it's not as bad as it's made up to be. get used to distinguish between cloud, emitters, perparticle, Ptypes etc., and looking for things in the right place, and you'll be half way there.
