just wondering if it is possible to adjust the transparency of an image plane....if so, how?

just tryed to make it transparent and dident find a way to do it so dont think that you can but maybe other people know how to do it!!

Yes there is, you can find it in the channel box under the imagePlane section. I have posted this before, but I still like to tell people that Ive always had problems with performance after you do. (Adjust the Alpha setting) Moving your scene around after you adjust the alpha can make it extremely slow. My best recommendations are to put the image planes on a layer and make them a refrence object (so you wont accidentally select them in your scene.) and then you can just turn them on and off at will. This is will speed you work up a lot.

No problem, if they appear too bright in MAYA, you can always take the pics into photoshop and mess with the levels too. Just to make them a little more tolerable, as well.

What I've found that works better then image planes is to map the texture onto a plane. Then you can move it around easily and make it transparent without slowing things down.
