I have this weird thing going on with a simple shader I am using. It is applied to a robots leg, with the 3D placement node for the fractal parented to the relevent geometry... All is well, untill I mirror the geometry for the other leg or arm..

And this is how the shader appears with the mirror by adjust the group node to a value of -1 in the X.

I have tried to root around the hypershade, but the fractals and the placement node values remain untouched. Geo normals are normal.... and its such a nagging little gripe that I have decided to throw it open to you guys..
