The real question here is: what do you want the text to do?
for starters dont think about the text as "words", think of them as "objects".
then decide if you want to treat the letters individually, or the words as a whole?
just a start.

make sure your "composition" is long enough to handle the video.
make sure the "work area" is including the area that you want to render
under "render settings" in the "render Que" make sure the duration is set to the length you need.

i agree, ask yourself what do you want to do? use paper and pen and visuallize what you want to do. Make a rough schetch and then break eveything down to "objects" . and start to work from there.
