I am working on extreme close-up of the cat's eye, and I need some fur ...
russian blue cat :)
suggestions?

Get Shag or be prepared to spend a long time painting and placing opacity-mapped planes and renderable splines :)

or show a lot of patience and wait for Joe Alters Shave&Haircut for 3dsmax . . . presumably to be released by the end of this year . . .

No disrespect to the guys at Splutterfish, but if Shave is out by the end of the year I'll eat my hat (I'm only saying that 'cos I am impatiently looking forward to it myself) :)

I'd have to agree... I spoke with one of the guys from joealter.com at Siggraph 2001 (<--yes, last year.) and he was saying it'd be out soon. (my idea of soon is apparently much different.)
Anyway, it's a great product (try the demo) and I'm anxiously awating the max release as well....:curious:
