View Full Version : the Joker: need your advice
finearts2 09-12-2002, 04:40 AM I'm sending this in for a contest, and wonder if it looks ok. It can be of any subject matter so I thought, why not celebrate the the one and only Adam West. So... what do ya think???:)

This is a really nice drawing. Pencil, right? I only wish the background was a little bit less busy. If the background were lighter, I think it would compete less with your subject. Really good job, though!:buttrock:

wow, pencil your tail off! I'm always impressed with tight pencil shading, nice work. I usually get real bored and start scribbling when trying to render. I agree about the background value, could be lighter.
maybe you have to blurr the background for DOF.

Wow this is really nice. Although I would of like to of seen his other foot. I might of made it a little more dynamic and could also of solved the background. Since you would have to see some ground too. But really the background doesnt bother me any.

Thanks for the responses so far.
I left the background busy to represent the chaos and mental clutter of the joker. At first, I made the background soft for a depth of field, but it looks like some kind of wallpaper in a kids playroom, so I went this way. Just letting you know my weird thinking in doing this artwork.
Thanks again.
