View Full Version : [Vray] light material gives splotches...
3D_me 02-03-2005, 03:17 PM I'm quite new with vray, so it's possible that I post some settings that aren't supposed to be used together, but I'm in a trial and error phase, so excuses for this...
My problem is shown in the next picture:
http://users.pandora.be/sorgeloos/tweakers/vray/001.jpg
As you can see there are still a lot of splotches and my objects seem to float...
My settings:

The whole scene is lit by objects using the vraylightmtl (vray version 1.46.10).

-) use "high" preset for the irradiance map
-) 1000 subdivs for the lightmap should be enough
-) use the default lighmap sample size of 0.02
-) turn off "store direct light"
-) turn on lightmap pre filtering
-) increase the irradiance hemisph. subdivs and samples if still nessecary.
-) post this kind of questions in the official vay forum

Maybe I should 've posted it on another forum... anyway, your settings worked fine - thanks - and that's why I just love Cgtalk ---- quick and good answers to your questions :) .
