Im looking into doing a small greenscreen project a few months from now.Im currently attempting all little tests on doing it and researching best ways to light it and what not..But what is the proper way to remove the greenscreen in after effects. Is Collor Key the only tool/effect to use on this. And what can i do if theres different gradients of green in the footage. Is there a way to average greens that are next to each other?

Also is there a way to erase perframe so i can clean up any little things that may have been left behind?

depending on your version of AFX, there's also colour range key and colour difference key. As for evening green tone, the colour range allows you to key out shades of green between the darkest and lightest shades.

For frame by frame fixes, try creating masks over troublesome areas.
For better results, turn on the spill suppressor

Where is the spill suppressor located and in the tutorial it says go to the Effects menu, Keying submenu. Choose Color Difference Key.but i only see collor key.collor range and luma key under the effects for keying.

You've probably got version 4.x
