View Full Version : what's different between Hi-Polygon and Li-polygon?

I am new here and I am just start learning 3d(Maya).
I have read some article, there have a terms "Hi-Polygon" and "Li-Polygon", what's this?
both of them I know is polygon, but I donno the definition of these terms...

Hi-Poly - Loads of Polys!
Lo-Poly - Not many polys!
Eg- The incredibles -> Hi Poly characters... Videogames -> Lo Poly characters
The total amount of polys in the actual object distinguishes if it is Hi or Lo poly.... Damn, I wish I could explain this better! LOL (DOH! :banghead: )
