I've just skinned a character and am now trying to animate the morph targets. The animation is done and the targets are allready set, but I cannot get the morph target animation to behave correctly. I animated before I skinned in case that has anything to do with this glitch. The original file with just the mesh and morph targets behaves fine, with total control over the morph animation. Now with the skin modifier applied (above the morpher modifier) I cannot animate the targets properly.

The animation values spike up and down with a mind of their own, and any effort to adjust anyting in track-view only worsens the problem.

If I move the morpher modifier above the skin, the character reverts back to its original pose and world space if I adjust the spinner.

I've tried reseting Max and my computer, but the problem persists. I'm now in a time crunch, and I need to add the facial expressions before I set up the shot to render.

If anyone has any ideas you would really save my ass.

No idea what's causing that, and it doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. My guess would be a corrupted mesh (and from experience I'd be inclined to blame CS :) ). I'd suggest trying the usual workarounds: 1st, merge everything into a new file; 2nd, save your Physique settings, extract your morph targets, collapse all your meshes then rebuild it all again.

I've got it! All I had to do was extract the morph objects, delete the modifier, and re-apply morpher again. Phew! I new I was over thinking this.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
