Hello everybody,
I am working on this girl for a college class. My main goal is going to be a fairly realistic looking human with nice clothes and accessories. This is what I have so far, let me know what you think. All crits welcome!

Poly Modeled in Max 7
Render is Mental Ray with a SSS material.

I like the material ur using, but it kinda makes it look like a plastic doll :P

Anyways, you started alright, but you have some problems there:

1) Proportions. I think the waist and the arms are too long.
2) Definition, i think things such as the ribcage or the chest bone could be more defined. Also applies to knees.
3) there seems to be almost no wrists at all. You might want to double check that.
4) Topology issues. There are some weird looking quads on the chest, ribs, and pelvis area, so, check that too!!

Could you put a close up to the face? :D

Keep it up man, still lots of work need imo, but ur on the right track. :)

Thanks ZeroCartin for the input. I learned zbrush last week (fun fun) and used what you said to make some improvements. The feet will have shoes on the finished project in case you were wondering about the "barbie" feet (Ling). I still plan on working on the stomach and underarm area. Let me know if anything else looks odd. Thanks

The skin looks better. What did you change in the material? The wrists could be thinner.

marc001, I have now added a Diffuse map which I painted in Photoshop. I have still not applied any bump or specular maps. I'll make some modifications of the wrists. Here's the latest:

Next up is clothes! Keep the crits coming.

Could you show a closeup front, side & 3/4 view of the head?

she's starting to look like a real girl alright. really only a couple of crits about her ribcage: the ribs appear to be horizontal to the side of her breast (under her arm pit). the side of her breast, where it meets the ribcage again on the side under the the armpit looks a little too defined, there's too much of a line there. other than that, great clean work. wish i could make meshes like you.

I finally gave up on ClothFX. Crappy plugin much like Shag hair. I modeled some clothes up instead:

she's looking good. the body looks better than the face though, the face is still a little cartoonish. and watch the waxiness on the SSS skin shader. other than that, really good.

good job ! for me the shader is always a bit like plastic doll. And the base of the hairs is to pronounced : this is not very realistic. Otherwise great midelisation and cool shoes :)

destroyfred, thanks for making me think about fixing the hair. I got it looking good after adding a few modelling cutters.
