View Full Version : Modeling David's HAIR!!??
Diffused 09-12-2002, 12:28 AM I'm seriously stuck. Beyond stuck. I'm practicing my modeling skills by modeling a gladiatory-looking man, thus using good ol' David as a reference. How the heck do you make hair like that in 3dsmax? modeling it by polygon will drive anyone insane. Is there a way to model it with modefiers or free plugs that somone knows? HELP!
The pic below is a computer scan just for show.

Heck, it's been five days already, you'd have it modeled by now :p

Have you tried using a Displacement map and Bump map combination?
I'de imagine you could get something really close to the hair you are striving for with that.

make a nice little curly spline and extrude his hair face by face using an "extrude by curve" command... voila
