View Full Version : motion blur on particles?

I cant seem to get any motion blur on my particles
- i create a new scene,
create a particle emmiter
switch up the speed
draw a render region round it
switch on motion blur in the render region options
No blur!

if I do the same with a moving sphere I get blur but not with particles

I've looked in the online help but cannot find anything about this problem

I'd really appreciate any help on this

You have to cache the particle simulation before you see any motion blur on particles.

ParticleOp -> Simulation -> Execution State -> Mode -> Standard Catching

it's a long while I don't use particles, but I think you also need to activate consider shape changes for motion blur to work on it.

after all the cloud's position is static 99% of the times, and it really is the points billboards are attached to that move.

No, it's not required. Only caching :)
