Ok fellas i know you guys are probably getting sick of me by now, but i just don't have alot of texturing experience.. I need to know how i can get those really cool BUG LIFE eyes...? I'm not asking for a tutorial but i want to know if you guys have any techniques that might help me out.. I can pretty much make my texture map, but when i apply it to the model it still looks very dull.. Anyone who can help would be great...

it's all about imitating real life
not just a poly with a texture on it
but also on top of it a transparent layer with some shinieness/reflectivity/refraction
don't forget the air poly !

dan ablan has a good technique for modeling human eyes in his books (inl6 or 7). Adapt that one to suite your taste in eyes.

cheers

Try this:

It's for 3dsMax, but you can adapt the ideas to LW pretty easily.

Good Luck,
Brett
