Hi guys!

Well, I'm making a new short movie and I'm posting here some frames of it.... I would like to hear some advice from you... ;-)

wow! is that all in 3d!? that's incredible. Could you offer us a higher res version of the shot though? it looks rather blurry at that size and i would maybe like to see that shot with antialiasing. hope that's not asking too much.

Hi Himizu!

That's all 3D.... most of the work was made in 3DSMAX4 and rendered in Final Render... and I used a little Maya to add some trees with Paint Effects...
Unfortumatelly I dont have a higher resolution image here, but I have some close ups...

thats awesome :buttrock: i espesially like the lighting. the only crits i can give are: the shoreline isnt smooth, and the small ripples on the water dont really have a source. but those are just minor things, its awesome

beautiful work... the depth is awesome, and the lighting is just right, its interesting that you incorporated the rainforest in the foreground for the distant shot, gives it more authenticity... great work...

I saw on the news the other day, that some green peace activists climbed up the statue of jesus and vandalized it with green peace propaganda... fyi

Fantastic Job Felipe!
Realy beautyfull photography.
Why are you doing it? I mean, it´s the final stage, or you will do some dolly or something like it? I believe you should!
Very real!
Parabéns!

Hi guys!

Thank you for your comments! They were very useful.... Well, I'm currently fine tunning some details of this scene... and I agree with you... I really need to adjust the water ripples and some flickering and grain that happens in the animation... That's my first huge scene (2 million polygons) using full GI... ;-)

For the brazilian people:

Valeu pelo apoio galera!! Esta é a primeira cena do meu curta que se chama Amazing Grace, eu ainda devo mexer bastante nela se sobrar tempo.... atualmente eu estou terminando a segunda cena e partind pra terceira.... é uma trabalheira do caramba.... mas acho que está valendo... é uma corrida contra o relógio... eheheh

You say that this was made in 3ds max but the trees was in Paint effects (maya)... but how do you export the trees for the max ???? The paint effects trees are generate in pos render... or not??

Thanks for your comments guys!! ;)

Well, regarding the MAX and Maya integration, it's not so complicated... I decided to model the scene in MAX and render the it in Final Render because of it's ability to deal with a insane number of polygons (2 million) with a great diffuse reflection bouncing level (an average quantity of 100 bounces)... but I would like to have some Maya Paint Effects trees in this scene too... so I rendered the scene in MAX and after it was done I tracked the camera in 2D3's Boujou, and exported the animated camera to Maya... I guess it's not the best way to exchange animated data between those two softwares, but that approach worked out just fine....

Really nice img:applause:

but the hill against the statue is a bit "cartoonish" I mean its shape doesnt look like a hill from stone with all the errosion.

I think that the farthest landscape need a bit tweaking (mainly correct natural shapes).

Hope you understood to my ehmm ehmm English:cool:

Excelente trabalho!

looks great - what technique are you using to darken the outside edges?? i like the way it looks - gives it a nice photo-quality...

just kidding about the lens flare - it actually works in this shot.

Beautiful images. Hope you post the animation. A wireframe with that many polygons should be... interesting.
