this picture is for a private roleplaying game located in southern middle earth. Its also my first attempt with my new wacom tablet. I put some attention into the composition, the rule is: dark areas in front of light ones and vice versa, below are some scetches. as you can see, i chose the second one.
spechially the two female priests are still very rough, no precise decision is made yet about the color of their clothes. Their skin shall be dark in the final version

I like the layout and the colors. The perspective of the top of the tower feels off to me. Good luck with it!

I am very much impressed by the intense atmosphere generated by the good composition and the applied lighting. :bounce:
Some small things if it comes to detailing out the picture:
- create some size referencing for the tower like windows, flocking birds, etc.
- have a look at the anatomy of child, especially the legs
- think about having some suble red colors in the foreground to give the picture more debth with a warm/cold contrast
- show were the light comes from, that lightens the upper tower... if there is a dark cloud cover there has to be a hole in the clouds
Keep on going, I am interested to see were this jurney to middleearth will end...

Nice composition. I agree with the size reference. The tower looks kind of small.
In your sketch it looks much bigger somehow.

Ok, finally i declare this piece for almost done after a long break. I dont need details.
It looks a little like a religious ad, but it was a good training

Great pic! Nice work with the colours :thumbsup:
But compared to your earlier sketches I think that the tower has "shrunk" a lot. If you could move the tree one the right up a bit and darken it as being right in the foreground I think it would help - but otherwise, as Espen suggested - add some windows/birds to give a perspective on the tower.

I like the movement in the picture. You should really do more of these digital paintings!

Thanks . I will do a refinement to make the tower appear higher (it is in fact 200 m high, thereby 6000 years old ;)) More Fog and perspective distortion etc...)

If you want to make it seem higher it would also help to make oit more narrow I think.
Long and narrow, and lot's of texturing at different heights.

antweiler my friend! it's so good to see that it can be done: to finish a peace of work after ages of hard work doing game production and stuff...
I promise to follow your steps and finish what I have started. maybe we could do a project together these days?
the picture looks awesome! I especially like the little cloud sneaking around the corner of the tower. ist's a very dark little cloud, and it's done for a purpose... but I like it anyway...
