View Full Version : LowPolyMeg
Hi there,
I want to share a low Polygon version of Meg.

The polycount has gone down with 1575 polygons. Look at it as a generic mesh you can use to your liking.
Cheers,

Thanks. This relates to a thread I just started. This will help.

Saw the thread. I think Otto's head mesh is outdated by now, although it will hold up in most situations. Low Poly Meg's head is in my eyes a first rate generic mesh (not talking looks here).
There is just one rule I can think of. Adjust your loops to accommodate the shape of the head ...Don't force the head into the mesh you have.
In the end you will find out that each head with some character requires it's own unique mesh. Nothing wrong with starting from a generic head though ;)

Hey thanks Bunk, Ive always thought it silly that every person who comes along should have to re-invent the wheel, it is nice to see free meshes like this. On the other hand I find that when I build my own stuff it ends up having my own unique stamp on it which is nice.
I need some female characters for my project so I might take a run at tearing this one apart and making it my own, so to speak.

thanks bunk v useful...
you the master as always bud.

I just heard about this, thanks. I'm in the process of populating the cast of my film with character who started life as Meg and Otto. I'll now add Meg 2 to the mix. Thanks a lot for these fine characters.

Thanx a lot!
The mesh looks good and servers very well as a generic mesh. Is already in use here... http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
All the best, FRitz

Thanks, very much. by comparing the hi-poly with the low-poly version, we have a very useful learning tool.

Hey Bunk I thought I would pop in to let you know that this week over at Renderosity Cinema forum Otto is being hacked up for the speed modeling session. Enjoy:

Cool!
I think I like the one with the wrench/spanner by Mark David the best.
Thanks for the link soapy.

Thanks Bunk! I've learned a lot from deconstructing your original design of Meg.
