Ok so I would rather ask this question on digital tutors web site, but as great of help they are, they made a huge mistake getting rid of their own forums, so know i get to try to ask the questions here since all you are so cool. I don't know how to explain what's happening in words, but here i go. I'm following along with their femal robot tutorial cd....... during the first step the foot is made with a poly cube and extruded a few time to get shape, well my extrude doesn't extrude the faces correctly the faces start getting crossed in the middle and make extra verticies i don't want...... i can't find a tool setting that would make the extrudes to not get all f'ed up.

The other thing is once the foot object is good, he converts poly to subdiv to get smooth...... well when I do this the shape turns into a bunch of toobs, and the settings are at default...... there's not explination on the cd telling me how to fix this if happens.... i give up looking for settings to fix this........

it looks to me that your extrude tool doesn't keep your faces together...

try polygon>tool options>keep faces together

if it doesn't work I dont know...
