This is my first attempt at a realistic rendering. At the moment I think I only need to clean up the lines, but you guys have really helped me improve things in the past. So let me know.

This is a Police Officer. I'll say from the year 2027. Polymer armor and a body suit similar to the ones worn by the Fremen imagined by Frank Herbert. Heavy duty Vertigo Pellet gun. the pellets when they strike a human target release a nerve toxin that induces severe and strong feelings of fear and nausea. Did I spell that right?

Gamoron ---->Steady improvement every time dude! Good stuff.
Suggestion:
Too much of the same white. You could glaze over most of the white highlights so they are a warm color and save just a couple sparkles for one area of interest = the painting would pop lots more.

Keep it up and keep going on this, push the value more in the figure.

Thanks guys. -OZ- do you want me to post a smaller image?

Sleepless, thanks for the crit. Will do... what do you mean about pushing the value though?

Cheers!

Agree with Sleepless, you're getting better and better...

Thanks jeroentje. I appreciate the good words. Cheers mate!
I think I'll try showing more of the face.

Here's the drawing that was the base.

edit: Sleepless we posted the same time. Your image came up when I came back and I was like WTF! Meaning, I thought my image had been changed by explorer or something. I'm gonna see what I can do already throwing on some glazes. Should have a new one up at the latest tomorrow.

Well, I decided not to add the face. I didn't think it really looked good. It was tough too. And I decided not to change the values either. But I did glaze over the reflected light and think its improved.

This looks way to bright. I think it's cause of ImageReady. But if not I will bump out the values.

Whoa! How did I miss this?

Gamoron, good stuff here and I agree with the others ... you're getting better at this. Love the suit design especially the helmet (don't add a face - looks more menacing this way).

It looks like you've only roughed in the background so I'm not going to comment there until you have more done. But, I do like the burned out forest look that it has now. It would be cool if you could add some ash and stray embers floating through the air behind him.

The proportions are good, he looks like a big buffed-up cop ready to kick some ass. There are a couple things about the pose that bother me though. First is his left arm or more specifically the rotation of the left hand.

I don't know how to describe this so you should probably go find something rifle-like and pick it up to understand. The arm supporting the front end of the gun will have the elbow pointing perpendicular to the weapon (or towards whatever is behind him). While the trigger arm will follow the direction of the gun. It looks like you have this working properly at the lower portion of the arms, but the upper bicep and shoulders look squared to the viewer.

All of this results in a really twisted and unnatural pose on the left hand (ya' - I told you I would have a hard time explaining it).

Secondly, (this will be easier to explain :D) the upper thigh is rotated and scaled to indicate that he has this leg forward in his stance. However if you look at his feet it appears that they are more on the same plane (heel to heel). His right foot can probably be adjusted to fix this problem.

And finally, the lighting elements that you added seem to be reversed from your light source in the image. The reflection on his helmet indicates that the main light source is coming from his left. Yet you put the warm highlights on the opposite side and the cool shades where they shouldn't really exist (Unless you're going to indicate the light source is a blue light and the fill light is warm colors).

Good stuff ... I'll be following this thread to see how it turns out.

edit: schmu_20mol, cheers. Thanks for the comment.

 Thanks Kirt! You've given me a tonne of things to think about. That hand of his is going to need some major reworking and maybe the forearm. I'm not going to touch upper arm armor though. But I'll have to rework it or maybe provide some sort of other view of this guy. The armor plate actual covers his outside of the arm, circling around about 2/3's. His bicep is only half covered. The legs!!!! oh god this may be tough. I've been looking at those legs for awhile, not wanting to jump on them. The one thigh armor plate is longer in the back then the other.

And as for the lighting, do you think I should darken the warmer secondary light? my intention was that the whiter light was hotter and brighter, but I guess it's not being conveyed. The light Source is blue and the fill is warm, you think this should be the other way around?

BTW great job on the above and beyond image. Downloaded it, I'm making a gallery of all the great work on here. I thought though you could have brightened up the headlights more. Did you not do it cause you didn't want to lose the detailing of the grill?

edit: don't think I'll be updating today guys. My sister is visiting and I gotta make arangements with my new landlord. Moving next week.
caio.
