View Full Version : 300Poly Bjoerk-Clone
florian 01-31-2005, 11:53 AM Hi CgTalkers
Here's my contribution to the Low-Low Poly Challenge.
Since I've seen the vid "all is full of love" for the first time, I always wanted to model a bjoerk-like character. I never finished my high-poly version:sad: and since then, that theme was already "copied" a million times.
Finally I took the chance to finish it by taking part in the unofficial LowPoly-Challenge:D
Texture (128x128) is still w.i.p. Lots of details to come...

c&c are very welcome

Hehe. Another great contribution to the "completely senseless lowpoly model" collection. Nice one there. Keep it coming ...

great textures, but the model needs more work methinks.
The upper body (breasts, chest, shoulders) is very chunky and kinda ruins the delicate and feminine look of the robot. The ass is a bit big too.
As i said, great texture - it really adds to the shading and curves, but the model seems too chunky at the mo.

Yep. I'm also a little bit unsure if it was a good idea to model a extremly feminine and sexy Bjoerk-a-like robot. It's hard not to make it look chunky with just 312Polys.
I will try to deform her a bit. Or do you think I need another "topologie"?
The ass is that big to "hide" the large hydraulics, that are needed to make her move
:D ...ok...to be honest, I love big, round bootys.
Thanks Bonsai.

ummm that robot is MUCH hotter than bjork...imho she's ugly and her music stinkies. But hey if I say that 2 loud she might take a flight over here to assault me like I was a camera man.

this is my favorite uber low poly model yet! if that model as standing an inch tall on the screen it would look great

super-nice! the texture work is great! but i rekon you could squeeze the poly count to get even less polies (if you felt so inclined).
nice job! :)
Bonsai, low-poly makes pleny o sense fool!! :D

Heya! Thanks for the nice coments
@Andy H: Thanks a lot for the critique. I was a little bit unsure if there is anything I could change. I've worked on the the body shape and like her much more now.
But the ass will stay like it is:rolleyes:
updates tomorrow
@KDX: :wip:
@Hailey_Bop: No chance. I really tried to save polys whereever I can. Maybe I could if would make the topologie of the torso unsymetric. But on a very lowPoly model, you get extreme angles that would make the shading and texture UV's look weird, when its animated.

small update
I took Andys advice and changed the proportions. Texture is 256 for now.
Still lots of detail to come.

Nice update!
For something so lowpoly. The textures help out tremendously. The extra detail in the neck in spine help out a lot.
And for future reference never trust a big butt and a smile.

Thanks dmonk
But this is hopefully the start of my career as a "big-butt-modelling artist"

:DI have no idea why, but that is incredibly funny.
Great model, and excellent texture!

You have a great model, wonderful textures. My only crit would be on the 128 version I would recommend mirroring the face UV's so that you could have more detail in the face. Most likely you will have 1 shot that is closer to the face where the detail would pay off.
The breasts look a little wide... but I am not familiar with the character.
