Hi, im just getting started in 3d modeling and animation and 3ds max. I have looked throug the manuel and tried searching the forums here but I have not been able to find an answer to my question.

I have max and 1 of the texture cds from 3dtotal and I am wondering if it Is possible to create material libraries from a disk of texture files or do you actually have to load them all into max 1 at a time. 1 at a time would take a long time. The makers of the cds have loaded them with alot of exellent textures and maps.

Thanks!

if they are texture maps you will need to load them into materials manually and then save the material into the material library. if they are already .mat files then you should be able to drag and drop them straight into you material folder in you max root folder.
