This is character i did for the hl2 mod: Dystopia (http://www.dystopia-mod.com), which my friends and i are working on in our spare time :) He's supposed to be ur average joe, typical build, just works for a corporation as an elite soldier hehe which is why his proportions are not the typical perfect muscular type ;) but rather a chunkey solid kind.

saw this one over at polycount and im loving it here aswell :thumbsup:

can really see how he and his buddys comes back after a mission, pops of the helmets and heads for the beers :)

OH this is amazing dude, well done, I have talked to the lead guy of this mod before, very nice dude indeed, and I was trying to see if I could make it on the team, but atlas, my modeling skills arn't amazing, so I said that I wasn't ready. BUT DUDE, this model is terrific, well done :)

my jaw dropped when i saw this.
AMAZING is all i can say, that is well above the standard of even the models in half-life2 singleplayer and unreal tournament 2004! its professional and more!

yeah, great model - quality work!

just two points to the design:

- his gunbelt looks like constricting his movement. on the one side its lying an his thigh and on the other under his tigharmor - not very comfortable if he rises his legs.
- by these proportions my first thoughts where - a pig on two legs.
he looks more like a space marine, but than he has this thin, small boots and wide pelvis.
from front it would look even more strange. its not a v body, its not straight, its a combination. the upper body is very boxy and his legarea has a v- (funnel) shape - not an aesthetic choice imo.

its a pitty not seeing more work from you on your page - is it, your first final character or i´m just blind?

wow! awesome first impression!

I actually like the proportions a lot - rather, I like the effect that Titus mentions about it lending the model a piggy sort of profile. Much more stylish than your generic warhammer or doom style space marine!

the only design point that i have a beef with is the mask - between the coloration and geometry, it really looks a LOT like the deep eyes helmets from the FF flick:

i mean, really there are only so many way to design a goggles+gasmask style storm trooper. between sparth's artwork, the jin roh armor design, and the deep eyes design, it doesn't leave us with much room to navigate :( i say us because i have been working on a gasmask soldier dude as well. so, i'm not sure if there's anything you can do to help yours stand out more, but that was the first thing that popped into my head when i saw it.

I agree with Adam, I like the character's "pig-like" shape.

I think the model is awesome, frontpage worthy imo. :thumbsup:
